We did a 4 day trip (8/24-27) along this loop, clock-wise:

We camped 2 nights at White Pass, and 3rd night at Blue Lake. Spent the 2nd day day hiking a loop (10+ miles) up to White Chuck Glacier and the climbing route (you can go as high as you want or turn back earlier), cross-country down and back on PCT via Red Pass. It was splendid.
We followed the advice of filling water at the river by the Shelter (about to fall down). That's not absolutely necessary. The next 2 miles up had no water, but there are streams high up before even meet PCT.
White Pass camp area is sheltered, but the view isn't the best. Also the small stream here is not the most convenient. Logistically, this is a good location if you are doing this loop. White Pass itself is beautiful.
Lots of little flying insects on top of Kodak Peak. Otherwise, bugs were not too bad. More along Pilot Ridge than other part of the loop.
Blue Lake is beautiful, and true to its name, very blue.
The river crossing down the Pilot Ridge is on big logs. No problem. But once cross the logs, we didn't see a trail. We bushwhacked over to reach the main trail.
Abundant huckleberry.
We hiked about 42-45 miles, instead of the 30 mile loop alone. Surprisingly more elevation gain than I had estimated.
