Disappointingly no snow, nor icicle in Yosemite. Couldn't see any snow from the valley floor, even if I look above.
The trail is paved for the first mile (no view to speak of), and then rock steps. Hard on knees.
The trail is well defined, even though it took me awhile to figure out where to find the trailhead. The signs in Half Dome Village aren't helpful.
Waterfalls are still running heavy. A lot of people on this beautiful day.
I initially planned to climbed the "closed" Half-Dome. But got terribly sick Friday night, so gave up at Nevada Falls. I threw up on top of Vernal Falls. Up to here, all was in shade. Later, I found some sunny spot and took a nap. Felt better, but not good enough, nor had sufficient daylight to continue on. Looped back down via JMT (the winter route, seems shorter than the loop in the trail description) to gain a bit more elevation first, but also better view. Overall, the view is narrow due to steep valley walls.
Trail condition now: dry, fit for all types of shoes.
