Parked on Mid Fork Teanaway Road. Walked 0.8 miles, then took Forest Road 230 (signed: no unauthorized vehicle). A bunch of junctions, mainly on dirt roads, now mostly covered by snow, so only boot tracks. Burnt forest, so views are not obstructed. Only the last ~0.5 mile is real trail. The last 100 or 200' is steep (maybe 50 degrees), so you may want to take off your snowshoes if they don't have side walls.
The top is beautiful, especially view to the north.
Total about 10.6 miles. If you drive on the snow packed stretch of Mid Fork, and park at the junction of FS 230, it's about 9 miles.
There's another approach from Jungle Creek Rd, which also involves walking on the road (due to snow).
Current condition: snow on the last 0.8 miles of road. Some muddy parts. The last 0.5 mile on the northern slope is better with snowshoes. Otherwise, you sink ~10cm. The rest, you don't need tracking device. We wore micro-spikes on the way up, but nothing on the way down.
