Sketchy top ridge in spring.
The snow is too soft, crampons don't bite.
Normal trail all the way to Lanham Lake. A bit icy, so spikes are useful.
From the lake (photo 1), zigzag up the slope in the trees to the ridge.
It's steep, but soft snow, easy to zigzag. We were on snowshoes.
Head right on the ridge, not steep. (See photo 2.)
Then you reach a bowl below the 2 peaks of Jim Hill.
We ditched snowshoes and poles below the top ridge.
The ridge is very narrow, with steep drops on both sides.
