I live on Vancouver Island and enjoy backpacking. It could take you a lifetime to experience all the amazing hikes on our little island. Feel free to email me for information about the hikes I have marked on this map.

This is a moderate hike for anyone relatively fit. You pay your camping fee at the parking lot. You can easily hike into Circlet in 4-5 hours, with stops for lunch and enjoying the views. There are many sections of boardwalk between Paradise Meadows and Lake Helen Mckenzie. Make sure the memory card in your camera is empty because you will be amazed by the diversity of plant-life, and alpine vistas. We stopped for lunch at a small lake, and had a brazen group of Whiskey Jacks join us, one even perched on my head, eyeing my noodles! The camping area at Circlet lake has several raised wooden platforms for pitching your tent, and you will need a GOOD mat to sleep on. The biting insects were out in full force as well, so take an effective repellent, and lots of it. There are no campfires allowed, test your stove before you leave! We saw a couple of nice trout taken out of the lake. There is good day hike to Mount Albert Edward, it is steep and not for faint of heart, but worth it for the views. My daughter Katie and I did this hike together. http://www.vancouverisland.com/parks/?id=411
