This is not for faint of heart. You need mountaineering skills, especially how to use ice-axe (must be leashed). Very very steep. I slid a few times, was held by ice-axe (it was tied to my pants!). Coming down, on a few slopes, you can slide on your butt, since the soft snow will limit your speed.
View is excellent starting from the top ridge.
Current condition: puffy snow, a few icy patches (both in the forest and on upper ridge). No trail to be found. You need crampons! I only brought micro-spikes and snowshoes. Going on steep icy slopes with spikes was dangerous. Many times, I had to punch my ice-axe down to pull myself up.
Took me 5 hours to get up, and 3 hours to get down.
I think we did less than 3.8 miles. Couldn't find the proper "zigzag" in the forest.
This is a panorama view to the south.
