Tried to hit sunrise on top of Kaleetan Peak, but I was slower, so didn't make it till maybe 7:10am. We started hiking around 3am!!! The view is splendid. However I don't recommend hiking in the dark. We had almost a full moon. On the ridge, we still got lost a little, given that this is not an established trail once you passed Melakwa Lake. Trail well maintained up to Melakwa.
Note, this is a scramble, with some exposure. Not suitable for regular hikers.
Parking situation is a bit strange. The parking lot was closed. Only handicapped lot is open. We parked at a pullout on the road. Or you can park at Franklin Falls parking lot. Also the road is one way now, so cannot get back on I-90 west from there. Had to drive east to Snoqualmie Pass to get back on I-90 west.
