DIRECTIONS: Driving directions provided by Alastair Ferries.
1. Take the sea to sky to Mt. Currie and then reset odometer.
2. From Mt. Currie take the D'arcy road for 25k to just past the settlement of Birken.
3. Turn right on the Gimse (8 Mile Creek) road.
4. Follow this logging road up for 3.2k and turn left on the 7 mile creek road.
5. Continue until south of the peak.create
SUMMARY: 1. Follow 7 Mile Creek FSR to the 5km mark.
2. Start bushwacking to East; heading for Nequatque's Southeast ridge
3. Follow Southeast ridge to the summit.create

Nequatque Mountain

Nequatque mountain sits immediately Northwest of Mount Marriott; the two mountains are connected by a col. Nequatque has a very rugged and removed feeling to it. The view of Cirque Peak, Cayoosh Mountain, and the rugged North face of Marriott still remain in my mind.
Our group had car camped at Nairn Falls recreation site, so as to get an early start the next day.
We followed the 7 Mile Creek FSR up to about the 5km mark, and then chose to ascend via a gully route, which is now known the Burgoyne Gully. As we topped out, we continued onto to Brad's (SE) ridge which took us through a minefield of boulders hidden underneath a thin snowpack. I actually popped a rivet off of my MSR snowshoes and broke the middle section of a trekking pole.
This mountain wore me down. I don't know if it was the altitude or the elevation gain in snow or the trail breaking, but I was tired and ready to sleep by the time I summited. At the start of the hike, I had the intention of summiting Marriott too. As I sat atop Nequatque, I looked over the steep and exposed ramp up from the col to Marriott. I decided not to go for it. I was tired and not too interested in going for another summit.
