Took Friday off. We started hiking ~1:40am. All the way to Devil's Kitchen is fairly easy. I used micro-spikes, my friends just use their mountaineering boots. I don't own any mountaineering boots: too rigid. Stop at Devil's Kitchen to put on crampons.
We went up via Pearly Gate (left wing), which I used an ice-tool on top of ice-axe. One of my friend only used one ice-axe. It's icy and narrow here.
We came down via Old Chute, which is wide and not icy, but also very steep. Here I only used one ice-axe. We did bring rope, but didn't use it.
From the top of Old Chute and the summit, it's a narrow ridge. Overall solid. One short (maybe 1m long) is very narrow, which made me uncomfortable. You don't want to step here when it's windy or warm.
Now, the condition is perfect.
