Somehow I think the "other" K2 must have more impressive scenery. I joined Andy, Louise, and Susan on a day in late Feb that felt impossibly more like late April to take the ferry to Langdale and tackle this trail.
The trailhead is reachable by walking 10 min from the terminal and the signage for the most part was extremely clear (colour coded markers, maps, and written signs),.. but at other points it was almost possible to lose the trail and maintenance was lacking.
The trail highlights were few and unimpressive: 1 waterfall (not bad), 2 creek crossings that could be a challenge after a rain, and viewless peak (the knob). For me the highlight was the best parts of the trip were: the ferry ride, the weather, and the conversation of my fellow hikers.
Do not be fooled by the fact this trail is described in 109 Walks,.. this is a true 5-6 hour hike, more like Mt. Gardner with no payoff. In fact I would suggest Mt. Gardner as a similar, but much, much better option. Alternatively, for a great view of Keats Island, the Paisley Islands and the Gibson's area (which this hike sort of promises), hike Soames Hill Regional Park (otherwise known as K1!) for 2 hours and picnic at the top, a trail i highly recommend for those visiting the Sunshine Coast.
