High winds at 30mph made conditions on the trail very icy. Started at 1am and made it at 6am to the summit via the Hogsback and the Pearly Gates. There were very good steps all the way up kicked into the ice - crampons/ice axe mandatory. The sulfur fumes were noxious but the "shadow" of Mt.Hood onto the cloud bank and the morning sunrise we simply stunning. The bergshrund was not too wide yet.
