The first 2.5 miles is the same as Coldwater Peak, or any trail uses Boundary Trail from Johnston Ridge. The ridge has a decent amount of flowers left, so it's a delight to repeat.
Once you drop down to the pumice field, the flowers intensified. More yellow than last weekend. The terrain is mostly flat. Sandy. We continued on Willow Springs Trail, but turned around before connecting to Loowit. Repeat the last mile or half of what I hiked last Sunday, and the best flowers. It was still amazing this weekend, but on the dying/drying trajectory.
Truman Trail goes by this un-named green pond that's very pretty.
Probably 10 miles RT to Loowit Trail junction.
Gain all the elevation on the way back.
