This is an easy and well-maintained trail located just south of Carmel. We did the trail as a loop along the shore. There are multiple parking lots that offer different starting points. Many people do just a portion of the trail. We saw many families.
Point Lobos Reserve Park seems to be also popular with scuba divers especially where we parked. There is a small museum that offers some history of the park.
There is $10 admission fee for a car. The park ranger told us that the park was full the day before and there were over 100 cars overflow parked outside the perimeter of the park.
It took us 3 hours to do the loop.
