Over-engineered trail from Pinnacle Trailhead to the saddle. Heather is blooming nicely. Avalanche lily is on its way out. Spotty paintbrush (more on the road). View is excellent.
Plummer Peak is an easy hike from the Saddle, to your right (west). You can find trail all the way, may be faint at time. Great view.
We camped under the Castle (less than 2 miles west of the Saddle). The trail up to the plateau below the Castle is a bit sketchy. But we all made it with our backpacks. There's another party came late at night. Great view of Mt Rainier. Glimpse of Adams at certain places. Quite a lot of flowers. I didn't see any mosquitoes, however, one of the ladies in my group got 2 bites. Snow is melting fast here. It provides drinking water now, for maybe another week or two.
I continued east. Obvious trail to the tarn, which is quite ugly. From there, I hiked up the flowering slope all the way to the unknown top. Great view all around and Snow Lake below. No trail here. I didn't continue further towards Unicorn.
The Castle, a few fixed slings on the top. I saw people climbing without gears, which I attempted too. Could get pretty high (within 10 yards of the toothy edge) without getting dangerous. View of the camping area and beyond is very nice.
Distance: TH to the Saddle: 1.5 miles. Saddle to Plummet: 1 mile or less. Saddle to Castle: 1.5-2 miles. Castle to the unamed peak: ~1-1.5 miles.
