The elevation gain is deceptive on this one when attempted as a day hike, the trail undulates leading to a cumulative elevation gain of closer to 2700m. Unless you plan on jogging portions of it you will more than likely need at least 15hrs of daylight or plan to either be hiking in or out in the dark. My advice, get the night hiking out of the way in the morning before sunrise. This way the sun will rise at your backs. You will lose the sun earlier than expected on the egress as the Sigurd creek trail descends to the east, meaning any westerly sunlight you think you have will disappear as you descend back into the trees.
There also appears to of been an aberration in my GPS tracks on the way in. My descent tracks should be followed in and out.
