Another great trek learning the snow shoes, this time we started at the June Springs end of the trail. The weather was beautiful, sunny with a few clouds, warm at about -2C. About 12" - 14" of snow most areas but very thin under the trees. Great fun when we didnt have to walk in the unfortunate tracks of those who came up with quads. Where the trail is narrow in the these points we were forced to walk back and forth to find good enough snow to walk in. The worst was crossing the tressles where we had to walk of the 16" wide track down the middle or in the compacted snow at the edges. Also lots of fallen trees from a recent windstorm that were in many places across the trail including the road in.
