This trail was one that I intended to do sometime early in the season, but this year would have none of that. Though mostly free of snow, a few patches may have added another 30 minutes in late July when snow normally would have been long gone in this dry area.
The trails on Mt. Henning are mostly maintained (and used) by a snowmobile club (which means ATVs in Summer). I found them to be basically loggng roads and regardless of what 103 hikes says, there is no route finding unless snow coveres the trails, tracks can be found leading all the way to the top of the loop.
We saw a bear and plenty of scat and tracks, but mostly we saw, and heard, ATVs.
This hike is was not put in the newest (6th) edition of 103 hikes (perhaps that is why).
Don't go out of your way to come to this area for this hike alone, but if you are up the Coquihalla doing something else and need a lower key second day, check it out. This was number 80 or 81 of my goal of bok bagging 103 hike 5th edition.
