The road to the trailhead has enough snow that most cars park along the road. It adds about 1 mile to the lower trailhead. This makes about 8 miles, at least 3500' elevation gain.

It's a good idea to use ice axe and crampons. There are a few came up in just micro-spikes. Plenty gave up. The upper part of the avalanche chute had a harder section which requires care if you are not on crampons. Otherwise, good track to follow all the way. No sinking. At the the basin before the chute and on the plateau just below the summit, snow was soft. As long as you follow the footprints, you don't sink. We brought snowshoes, but didn't use them.
This panorama photo is at the plateau just below the summit. Too bad, the clouds moved in quickly, no good photo at the summit.
