SUMMARY: This is a fairly easy trail. The beginning starts out on a shared bike trail -- keep your mutt close. The best part starts at the Big Cedar, it's well marked and uncrowded. Even after several weeks with no rain we encountered some muddy spots.create

We arrived at the Mount Fromme parking lot at 8am and were happy to find parking spots available as this is a popular parking spot for mountain bikers. We parked on the West side of the parking lot as the East side has 3-hour parking limits – not enough time for the hike. From the parking lot we made our way to Old Mountain Highway towards the locked gate, two large water towers and two pit bathrooms.
Once we passed the bathrooms, we turned right onto a path and then left onto Roadside Attraction trail. We followed this trail which came to a junction. Kirkford Trail is to your left, as per the posted marker, and Cedar Tree Trail is to the right. We went right.
The trail is well marked with orange tree markers, and the odd yellow marker, making it easy to follow. There are switchbacks, up hills, down hills, roots and rocks and we crossed some dry creeks. Bugs were not an issue so bug spray was not needed. At about 3.5km into the trail we reached the large big cedar tree. Due to erosion, a wooden fence has been built around the big cedar to protect it. We stopped to take some photos and continued on towards Kennedy Falls.
The trail beyond the big cedar has ups and downs. It is along this section we noticed an old logging road as we stepped over wooden planks placed along the ground for a portion of the trail. As you get closer to the falls you will hear the sound of rushing water. As we approached we saw the lower section of the falls and then we veered left to get closer to the upper falls.
When we arrived at the falls there were two people with their dog and we enjoyed the solitude as we had a bit to eat. As we left to make our way back to our vehicle we passed many people headed to the falls. We were happy we started our hike early. It took us 3 hours, 40 minutes to complete the hike.
