The popularity of the Delicate Arch trail peaks an hour or so before the sunset, the time the arch is spectacularly illuminated. Another advantage of hiking in the evening is that the scorching sun will be out of the picture for your way down. The trail, dusty at the beginning, becomes more fun as it changes to rocks and wide ledges with a drop-off to the side. Make sure to stand clear of the area below the arch during the sunset, or the wrath of the photographers will ensue!
The photo album contains pictures from the sunrise trip to Double-O Arch, a visit to Dead Horse Point in the afternoon and the trip to the Delicate Arch for the sunset.
