We tried Cloudburst from the east this time off BR 200 but ran into impassable road conditions very low on the road (650 m elev) even with very capable 4x4's which then added nearly 10 km to the trip right off the bat, so it was no surprise that we ran out of time before we even made the frozen lake at the top of one of the main gullies. This hike would be a piece of cake in the summer as it looks like you can drive very high up on this road, hop out and probably make the peak in 1.5-2 hours at a good clip. I will be back to do exactly that in a few months.
Oh and good to note, this route means you are in the shade for a lot of the lower section... but once you pop out by the lake you will be bathed in all that sunshine goodness... we were not that lucky...lol... hence the photos are all a bit dark.
I will not be posting a GPX track as it is not complete... stay tuned for a solid one end of spring.
Stay safe out there and have fun.
Regards,
Rex
