If you can manage 7km (+ 7km back) of road walking as road is blocked by the gate right at the turn off from Furry Creek Drive the rest of hike is quite pleasant.
We did bike (going up requires some bike hauling, going down is much easy) 4km of Phyllis Creek FRS (reaching 2nd bridge over Phyllis Creek). After that the road is softer and narrower and start hiking from there turned out to be a good idea.
It's steep ascend after turning to Beth lake trail, but trail is in good shape and well marked all the way to the top.
It's even steeper after Beth lake but there is some flat rocky area before final push to the summit giving you some rest and good views to North Shore mountains.
Mosquitoes were present but could not spoil the fantastic views from the top.
We met three parties on our way up - all did overnight trip and were descending on that nice sunny morning.
As we were not in a rush - we traveled a bit further down and I decided to take a 'shortcut' and descended a steep gully to the snowpatch below and then to the Gordan lake. There were lots of lose rocks and overhanging builders - I do not recommend that path - it's much safer to use the same way back from the summit.
Biking back that 4 km was a nice reward after a long descend - if you will bike, make sure bike's brakes are in good condition as you do need to constantly apply them.
