Started from Cathedral Lakes Lodge along the Lakeview/Centennial Trail. A steady climb along switchbacks until we reached the junction to the Cathedral Rim trail. From here we headed towards Red Mountain. To make it to the summit required we climb a boulder field. Once at the top it was a fake summit as the summer was further ahead requiring just a few more boulders to climb. The views from the top were lovely providing us with a view of Quiniscoe Lake. From here we descended about 100 meters before hiking the incline to Quiniscoe Mountain. Once again lovely views. As we made our way towards the Glacier Trail we saw a herd of mountain goats grazing. The descent down the Glacier Trail requires you to watch your footing as there is lots of scree in certain places. Once we reached the bottom we stopped for a snack and then made our way back through the forest to the lodge. Really enjoyed this hike.
