ROUTENBESCHREIBUNGEN
ZUSAMMENFASSUNG: This hike is in the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve on Pender Island. There are two land-accessible trailheads and one by water (Beaumont campground).

Starting at the Ainslie Point Road, cross private property (please stay on the trail) and begin a steep ascent through second-growth forest to the summit of Mt Norman. The views from the summit platform are south-facing and extensive, taking in some of the southern Gulf Islands, Vancouver Island and the Olympic mountains. From here, take the same trail back down.

It is well worth combining the hike to the summit with an extension to the Beaumont marine campground. The stats given include this side-trip. However, note this means losing all 240 metres of elevation and regaining about half of that to get back to the Ainslie Point Road trailhead. But it is worth it as the forest is open and scenic, the trail crosses rocky bluffs alongside the water and the beaches at the campground are a lovely place to sit with lunch or a snack.
