This is probably the easiest ascent you can make from Tenquille Lake. There is an old trail that appears and disappears as you rise up to Fossil Pass between Copper Mound and Mt. McLeod but any way will do - the col is obvious. Once there, make your way up to the left over a bump on the ridge and from there, the summit is in plain view. There is nothing I would consider technical scrambling of any sort required to make the summit and there are various ways to wander along the ridge, soaking up the views all around. It's very rewarding and an easy trip compared to lugging your overnight gear up to the lake itself! There were some very interesting snow formations along the way, including twenty foot vertical walls of sun-cupped snow in a few spots. Up on the ridge there were no bugs to speak of either.
