We did most of the trail but once the lake became visible, we went off trail and descended to the lake and eventually decided not to go further. Mood and date:  May 31, 2009 Lower Pierce Lake GPS
Most of the hike was through the forest on either the well-maintained trail at the lower elevation, or across the snow higher up. Finding good Mood and date:  May 31, 2009 Lower Pierce Lake
